Looking for Elementor templates? Check WPEssentials free and premium templates designed and developed for business owners, bloggers, designers, developers, and freelancers.

Cryptocurrency and blockchain technology are two of the hottest technologies on the planet at the moment. Everyone sees the opportunity to make buckets of money with cryptocurrency, which is why so many want to get involved.

But the fact is, if you want to create a cryptocurrency website, then it’s going to be very difficult for you if you don’t know how to code.

But that doesn’t mean that creating a cryptocurrency-related website is out of your reach.

In this article, I’ll show you how easy it can be for anyone with no coding experience to create their own website using no-code platforms like WordPress.

I will show step by step how you can set up your cryptocurrency exchange website, update the crypto charts in real-time, and set up real-time tickers.

Let’s get started!

Start With a Domain Name

Choosing a domain name is one of the most important steps in creating any website — especially if it’s related to cryptocurrencies!

You want something that is easy to remember and recognizable by people who are familiar with trading or investing in crypto coins.

You can register a domain name through one of many online services like Namecheap or GoDaddy

GoDaddy Domain Registrar

It’s important to note that there are many different types of domain names. The most common ones are .com and .net, but you can also get one for your country (like .de or .uk) or a specific industry like .tech pr .io.

As .com is the most popular, it’s hard to find a good available domain, so you can also use extensions like .net or .io for your cryptocurrency website.

Setup Website Hosting

Once you’ve signed up for a domain name, you will need to purchase hosting for your new website.

There are many hosting companies available, but I recommend Cloudways because they offer quality web hosting at an affordable price (starting at just $10 a month).

Cloudways Managed WP Hosting

To get started, visit and click on Start Free.

Next, enter your details and you will have your hosting account within minutes.

Install and Setup WordPress

Now Cloudways will guide you to set up your first hosting server.

Cloudways Account Setup

Select WordPress Version 6.0 from the dropdown (if there’s a different version number, simply select the highest one).

Cloudways WP App Setup

Next, enter a name for your WordPress app and your server name (you can change this later).

Now you can select a server between DigitalOcean, Vultr, or Linode. I prefer Vultr over others as they offer slightly better performance but you can go with any one of them.

Cloudways Server Setup

Select the server size, the minimum is 1 GB — which is sufficient for a beginner site with little traffic. Then select the location which should be nearest to your target location.

For example, if you’re targeting the USA, you can select San Francisco or New York, or Amsterdam.

Cloudways Selecting Server Location

Cloudways offer over 65 data centers all over the world so you can find a server closest to your targeted location.

Finally, click on Launch Now and your server will start in a few minutes.

Now go to Applications and click on your app.

You can now open your newly setup WP site by opening the URL in the Admin Panel and logging in with the given username and password.

Plan Out Your Content (Pages)

Before we move to the next step of selecting a template, let’s plan the important pages that you will have to create for your cryptocurrency website.

Site Structure

First, think about the different types of pages that you’ll have on your website. For example, if you’re creating a cryptocurrency exchange, your pages might include:

  • Homepage: This is the first page anyone sees when they visit your site. It should have essential information about your company and mission.
  • Buy/Sell page: This page would include sections for “Buy” and “Sell”, with fields like “How much do you want to buy?” and “How much do you want to sell?”. It would also include information about the current price and how much it has changed over time.
  • How to Trade page: This is a page that explains what a cryptocurrency wallet is and how to use one. It might even include a link to a free online wallet service.
  • Wallet page: This page would include links to a variety of different types of wallets. It would also explain how to use each type and what they offer.
  • News page: This is a simple page that shows any recent updates or developments in the world of cryptocurrency.
  • About page: This page should contain information about who you are as an organization and what makes you unique.
  • Contact page: This page should contain information on how people can contact you (phone number, email address) as well as any social media links they can follow for updates or questions.
  • Login/sign-up page: This is where users sign up for an account on your site or log in if they already have one.

Once you have the structure of your website in place, it’s time to select a template that fits your requirements.

Select a Template

Now it’s time to select a WordPress template to kick start your website.

You can go to marketplaces like Themeforest or Templatemonster, search with keywords related to your website topic (in this case cryptocurrency), and pick a template you like.

Themeforest Templates

There are many WordPress themes and templates available on Themeforest that you can select.

Tip: When you’re searching on ThemeForest, check out the “Popular” tab to get an idea of what types of themes are most popular with other WordPress users.

Themeforest searching

To get a quality template, look for one with at least a few reviews, and over 500 sales.

You can check the preview of all the templates and see the demo pages as well before finalizing a template.

Once you have selected your perfect WordPress theme/template, simply purchase it and it will be ready for you to download instantly.

Let’s see how you can customize your template now…

Customize Your Template

First, go to your WordPress Dashboard > Themes > Add New. Select your template and click on Upload.

WordPress Theme Upload

Once your template is uploaded and activated, you can customize it.

Now depending on the theme/template, you have selected, the customizing process can be different.

Now, to customize your header, go to Appearance > Header Image and enter your Site Title and Description for your exchange. Then upload an image you want to use as your header image.

WordPress Customizer Site Identity

You can even change the color of your header text and add social media links by clicking on each individual area of text. This will open up a text box where you can edit its content or change its color scheme.

You can also customize other areas of your site like sidebar content by going to Appearance > Widgets and clicking on Sidebar Widget Area (or whichever sidebar you want).

WordPress Customizer Widgets

To set up your site navigation, go to Appearance > Customize > Menu. There you can rearrange your menu items or add/remove new pages in the navigation.

WordPress Customizer Menu

To add a social media icon to your site, go to Appearance > Customize > Social Media. There you can choose which networks you want to add and link them to your personal accounts. You can also change their size and color scheme.

Once you’ve finished customizing your site, click the Save Changes button in the top left-hand corner.

Note: To get the exact step-by-step process you can simply refer to the documentation of the theme/template you purchased.

Make Sure You’re Mobile Friendly

While you’re customizing your website, it’s important to make sure that it’s mobile-friendly. Google is starting to penalize websites that aren’t responsive or mobile-optimized. This means that if your site looks bad on mobile devices, you could see a drop in search engine rankings.

Mobile Friendly Websites

The best way to make sure your cryptocurrency exchange website is mobile-friendly is to test it out on a mobile device. Make sure you can use the site’s key features and functions, like placing a trade or changing your settings, easily.

If you want to go the extra mile with your mobile friendliness, you can try using Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test Tool and see how your site scores. You’ll want to get at least 95 points on this test before moving on!

Google Mobile Friendly Test

If your site is mobile-friendly, that’s great! But it’s not the only thing you need to consider before launching. You also want to make sure that your cryptocurrency exchange website can be found by customers searching on Google.

Let’s see how you can do that now…

Setup Basic SEO

Setting up basic SEO for your cryptocurrency exchange website is pretty simple.

The first thing you’ll want to do is to install an SEO plugin like Yoast or Rank Math. You can go to Plugins > Add New > and search for Rank Math. Click on Install Now and then Activate.

Rank Math WP Plugin

Now that Rank Math is installed, go to the plugin settings and enter some basic details about your site such as your site type (like a personal blog or a business), logo, sitemap details, and your social account links.

RankMath Setup

Next, head over to Settings > General. You’ll see a lot of options here, but we’re only interested in the Site Title, Meta Description, and Meta Keywords fields.

In the Site Title field, enter the name of your site (e.g., “My Cryptocurrency Exchange”). In the Meta Description field, type out a short description of what your site does (e.g., “Buy and sell bitcoins”). And finally, use the Meta Keywords field to enter relevant keywords that describe your business (e.g., “bitcoin exchange”), but don’t repeat any words from the previous fields!

Next, head over to Settings > Permalinks. Choose Custom Structure and put your desired permalink structure in the field that appears. For example, if you want your site’s address to be “” then select the Post name structure (see screenshot below).

WordPress Permalink Setup

In addition to these things, many other things need to be considered when optimizing your site for Google such as using keywords in headings and subheadings throughout each page so visitors can quickly find what they’re looking for without having to scroll through too many pages first.

You can read more on how to optimize your site for advanced SEO here.

Review & Publish Your Site

Once you’ve created your cryptocurrency exchange website on WordPress, it’s time to review and publish it!

The first step is to make sure that everything looks the way you want it to. If there are any errors or issues in how your site is set up, this is your chance to fix them before you publish.

Once your site is fully ready to go live, visit the “Publish” screen in WordPress.

The next step is to start promoting your site so that people find you when they search for cryptocurrency exchanges online.

Features you Need in a Cryptocurrency Website

After your cryptocurrency site is up and running, you can add a few more features to scale your site. Here are some features you can include:

  • Smooth, easy-to-use interface that makes it simple for users to buy and sell crypto
  • Secure system that protects their sensitive data from hackers and other threats
  • Intuitive design that makes buying crypto as easy as possible
  • Support for multiple currencies in case you want to add more later on
  • Solid marketing plan that includes paid advertising, SEO, and social media promotions
  • Simple plan for handling customer issues and complaints
  • Responsive design that works well on mobile devices

So as you can tell, there are a lot of features you can add to your site. But that doesn’t mean you should add them all. The key is to find the right mix of features that will help you stand out from your competitors and attract new customers.
